Edinburgh New Town Tour
The 250th anniversary of the birth of the New Town takes place in 2017, which lies to the north of Old Edinburgh. This tour takes in the magnificence of 18th century Edinburgh’s Georgian architecture, in the area known as the 'New Town'.
We walk the streets of this remarkable part of Edinburgh’s history, telling the story of how and why it was built, of the people who came to reside there and of the politics of the day which played such an integral part.
We see Edinburgh Castle and the Old Town looming high above us and the striking contrast of the Old and the New Towns.
How a new society was born is told as we walk through the streets of Georgian Edinburgh and how the New Town is an integral part of Edinburgh to this day.
